Authorization keys

Authorization keys are used to authenticate your connections to the doclabs APIs.

Create your first authorization key​

From the console, select API Keys from the sidebar and click Create API Key. You will get the opportunity to give your API key a meaningful name e.g. My Production Key. Make sure to copy your key to a safe place!

caution

the key that is generated can only be accessed once. If you lose the key you will need to delete and regenerate a new one.

Editing your existing keys​

From the edit view inside the console you can modify your key settings. These include:

  • Enabling or disabling your key
  • Changing your key description
  • Enforcing a usage quota (how many calls are permitted in a monthly cycle)
  • Enforcing the keys expiration date (automatically disabling the key once the desired date has been met)
